Since Vivian was about 13 years she remembers making her way around the family holiday table starting with her Aunt, relieving holiday stresses by giving massages (or some therapeutic touch). Her Aunt would inspect Vivian's fingers and thumbs and wondered what made those hands so special; "golden thumbs" she called them; why were they able to take her headaches away? Shortly after another hand would go up around the table and Vivian would work on another person's back, neck, arms, legs, you name it. Growing up Vivian was a kind, caring and touch inspired girl; loving to run fingers over grasses, hug others, work with crafts and wet pottery or give mini-massage at the holiday table. Now as a massage therapist these same qualities transfer over into her sessions. Vivian loves to smile and gets her clients to do the same. Breathing and intention on health and healing are the focus during a sesssion.

Becoming a professional massage therapist only seemed to be a natural progression of what Vivian was to grow up to become. Her life as a socially responsible individual and being conservative with the precious environment directly relates to how she cares for her own body and encourages others to care for theirs. Vivian is a supporter of community supported agriculture and lives an ecologival lifestyle free of chemicals. She nourishes herslef with organic foods and environmentally resposible body care. According to Shizuko Yamamoto author of "Barefoot Shiatsu":

“The human body and the earth on which we live are not separate entities. In order to increase physical sensitivity we must eat vegetable foods. We should avoid animal food, refined sugar (white or brown), honey and excessive amounts of fruits and fruit juices. Such foods interfere with our ability to feel other people¬s conditions. Thus if we eat well...our sensitivity will increase dramatically.”

Therefore a massage therapy session with Vivian is more "precise" (as one of her clients has said).

This is her calling her passion to integrate alternative choices and healthy lifestyles decisions to more people's lives.

In addition to her training as a massage therapist, Vivian holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Monmouth University, graduated Summa cum Laude.

Previous to becoming a therapist Vivian was employed as a Natural Foods Merchandiser for an area chain supermarket, worked as an Associate Video Producer and substitute taught in nearby grammar and high school Health and Physical Education classes.

Vivian also enjoys ballroom dancing, photography, crafts and does "some" graphic design (do you like the website?)
