Following Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy
Below are recommendations especially designed for following after your session of Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy. After receiving Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy (AOBT), your back muscles will be very supple and the chances of injury are greater. Please take the following precautions as professional suggestions for the first 48 hours after receiving AOBT.
DON’Ts
- DO NOT Sit for long periods of time in a hard chair.
EXAMPLE — sitting in front of computer, sitting in a theatre or playing cards for any extended amount of time. We do not want you to compress your back for 24 hours!
- DO NOT Lift heavy objects
EXAMPLE — children over 35 pounds, cement bags. Do not perform heavy yard work, housework i.e. painting, wallpapering or work out at the gym within the first 48 hours after AOBT. If your occupation requires you to lift heavy objects, wear a back support.
- DO NOT Engage in rough contact sports
EXAMPLE — wrestling, horseback riding, golfing, snowmobiling, jet skiing, running or cardio kick-boxing, any activity that uses and twists or compresses your back muscles within the first 48 hours of AOBT.
- DO NOT Drink heavy alcohol within the first 24 hours.
You may experience a “lactic acid hangover” due to the deep compression work. It is better to hydrate and sleep.
DOs:
- DO Drink lots of water!
- DO Passive stretching
Sit on edge of chair and hang forward. Try to touch elbows to floor. GENTLE EASY STRETCHING. Do not bounce.
- DO place cold packs or frozen gel pack on lower lumbar area for 20minutes, if you are sore, within the first 24 hours following your session. You can also lie on the floor with your legs up on a chair or sofa.
- DO wear back and neck support if your work requires rough activity daily.
- DO treat yourself to a hot bath, sauna, steam room or Jacuzzi.
