Vivian Taormina Director, NCTMB, Dance/Movement Instructor
Vivian Taormina is a nationally certified therapist, certified by the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB), and a Certified Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapist. She was Valedictorian of her graduating class at Somerset School of Massage Therapy - a program accredited by the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA) and approved by the New Jersey Department of Education.
Vivian is insured by and a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA). She has been trained in the following specific massage modalities: Swedish, Myofascial Release (deep tissue), Neuromuscular, Sports, Pre & Peri Natal massage, Reflexology and Hydrotherapy (the use of heat and ice during a session). Vivian has accomplished several continuing education credits in CranioSacral Therapy instructed by the Upledger Institute and Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy™ developed by Ruthie Hardee.
Vivian's desire to incorporate more of her body for giving massage (Ashiatsu) lead her to move her feet as a "dancer". Vivian is certified to teach Shake Your Soul/Kripalu YogaDance as she has also completed over 100+ hours training awarded by The Leven Institute For Expressive Movement. Her love to empower women and incoprate beauty and fitness into lives of other women lead her to also complete 100+ hours training in Pole Dance Fitness and develop Woman Rising — Expressive Sesnual Power (ESP) pole fitness inspired classes. Vivian has logged well over 100 hours teaching both curriculums.
A kind, caring and touch-inspired Vivian of about 13 years, remembers making her way around the family holiday table starting with her Aunt, relieving holiday stresses by giving mini shoulder rubs. Becoming a professional massage therapist only seemed to be a natural progression of what Vivian was to grow up to become. Her life as a socially responsible individual and being conservative with the precious environment directly relates to how she cares for her own body and encourages others to care for theirs. Vivian is a supporter of community supported agriculture and lives an ecological lifestyle free of chemicals. She nourishes herself with organic foods and environmentally responsible body care.
This is her calling, her passion, to integrate alternative choices and healthy lifestyles and introduce dynamic ways of living and decision-making to more people's lives. Vivian loves to smile and gets her clients to do the same be it via massage or dynamic dance/movement class. Breathing and intention on health and healing are the focus during sessions with Vivian.
In addition to her training as a massage therapist, Vivian holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Monmouth University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.

Jana Crawford O'Brien, Massage Therapist
Two words for our therapist with 3 names...POWER HOUSE!
Jana is able to adeptly transition from a light Swedish spa-like massage to a pin pointing deep tissue massage where her fingers feel like they are making their way through layers and layers of "stuck" connective tissue.

She loves to massage clients' faces and feet and enjoys how facial extractions leave the face free of debris and bacteria.
Clients have complimented that Nicole “just knows where to touch” and “had the perfect pressure” and have commented on how great the stretching feels that Nicole incorporates into her massage sessions.
In addition to being a professional massage therapist Nicole is also a Pilates instructor, and was a dancer for 25yrs…both of which she feels blends seamlessly with giving massages. |

Umberto Taormina, Massage Therapist
Umberto says: “I like massage because I am a purist. When any one one of us is at work doing whatever we do, in some way we are affecting the life of someone else, (hopefully not negatively). Of all the previous jobs I've held only massage allows me, as a purist, to have direct contact with someone with no material process getting in the way; kind of like, walking out in your yard, finding a dandelion, taking one of its leaves, and eating it…opposed to going to the store and buying salad greens! That is what I like about being a massage therapist!
Even before going to massage school, caring touch was passed on to me from my mother, and I kind of look at it like…it took me 38 years to go back to what I was first taught, and now I am practicing it.
I am also an accomplished cyclist and have a specific understanding of how massage is beneficial to anyone who is physically active.
Also, GET ME PSYCHED TO WORK ON YOU! Say, 'I've been looking forward to getting a massage all week!' and if the massage was good, (hopefully great), LET ME KNOW, and don't hold back, that's just as important to me as letting me know you couldn't wait to be massaged!" |
